The new SBS site will have a robust amount of free information.
And that’s just a start!
Michael Gillispie of Bindery 59 has agreed to be a guest on an episode of the OmahaBound podcast! Join us as Mike brings us up-to-date on what Bindery 59 is doing in the comic book bookbinding world.
OmahaBound is the name that Tim Benson has come up with for our monthly bookbinding podcast. While most podcasts will feature Tim and myself, we will be inviting other comic book bookbinding enthusiasts to join in on the conversation.
Stay tuned!
Tim and I had a great meeting with Kerry, Connie and Travis of H&A Media Group! The next step is to flesh out the creative concepts that we discussed. I will be posting these as they are developed.
Booster Gold volume 4: A couple of years back I created a three volume set for a customer through Snow Dog bindery. Sadly Snow Dog is no longer in business. I am having H&R Bindery create a matching volume 4 with a file supplied by me. I’ll post images when it is finished.
Tim Benson and I meet with H&A Media Group to discuss building the new Single Bound Studios web site.
We are asking their designers to build our site to resemble a comic book two-page spread! That’s the fun part!
But we are serious about usable content for the site visitor. The goal is to produce content that the visitor will want to come back to over and over again. Podcasts, informational videos, project templates, etc.
Stay tuned!
Here is short clip showing my Home Office.
In another life I wrote and produced video training tapes. At the time I was doing this the technology was big, bulky and expensive.
Not any more!
To create the instructional videos that Tim and I will be working on we are using the following resources.
An iPad 2 (with a special tripod mount) to shoot the footage and record some audio. Once the footage is shot, we dump the electronic files into a dropbox folder.
We then retrieve the file from the dropbox folder and edit them on a 21.5 inch iMac using iMovie. To record primary and additional audio we are using a yeti USB microphone.
Each finished video will be posted in Single Bound Studios youtube channel.
The short answer is that I couldn’t make it work without violating copyrights. Fair use is one thing but I what I wanted to do would have been far outside of fair use.
So by relaunching the Single Bound Studios site Tim and I hope to be a resource for helping people get their projects done.
As I restart Single Bound Studios one of the new things that will be featured on the site is a Monthly Podcast focused on comic book binding projects.
Sometimes it will be an audio podcast and other times it will be a video podcast.
Tim and I have several topics already lined up to explore.
If you have some topic suggestions please let us know!
