And we’re back after an unexpected 2-week illness. Yesterday was the first day that I was able to do any sustained work effort that actually accomplished anything. Bottom line is I am glad to be feeling better and looking forward to getting more done on the new SBS site!
Creative Concept 3: I like adding captions to the panels. Still mulling over the rest of it.
Creative Concept 2: Better, but some of the panels still seem weak.
Creative Concept 1: Seems cluttered, unfocused. Some of the panels don’t work for me.
Over the last 6-8 weeks I have had near daily emails from prospects and former customers that I had not heard from in 2-5 years. Is this a sign the economy is improving? Are people back to spending money on their hobbies?
I have always found this part of the business fascinating. That it took some people years to send in some books to be bound.
The number of emails I received “sad” to see I had closed mostly came from people who had never sent in any work.
In any case, still fascinating.
Now, back to work!
I am starting to document projects being prepped and sent to various binderies. Today’s project involves getting a new cover put on a book I purchased from an eBay auction. I didn’t care for the original cover but the interior content was hand-sewn and well crafted. So the end result will be a short video showing the before and after of the process.
I am in the process of roughing out 10 different variations of the Creative Concept for the new SBS site. I finished two of them over the weekend. Right now they are being reviewed by Tim, Paul and Richard.
I will post them once I get their input.
Thank you for all the kind comments and welcome backs! The support for restarting SBS has been humbling and gratifying!
Stay tuned!
We are just getting started!
As we ramp up the new SBS site, I have been doing practice runs of how we will interact and help our fellow comic book bookbinding fans. I have been having scheduled “meetings” (one each day on Saturdays and Sundays) to share tips and to demonstrate how things are done.
I have the setup to Skype with up to 5 people at the same time. So, if you would like to get on the meeting list, let me know!
